Who are we?

Australian Institute of Business (AIB) is the trading name of Australian Institute of Business Pty Ltd.

AIB is registered as an Australian higher education provider by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and delivers TEQSA-accredited Higher Education courses which are recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and which are listed on the TEQSA’s National Register. AIB has Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) registration for specific courses as detailed in the table below. AIB is also a registered training organisation to deliver a vocational educational and training course which is regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).


History

AIB has its origins in a management consultancy incorporated in 1984 as Gibaran Pty Ltd (Gibaran).

In November 1995, Gibaran obtained accreditation to deliver its first Higher Education course by the Training Recognition Branch of the South Australian Government and by 1 January 2002, accreditation for the full suite of business degrees including the prestigious research degrees (DBA and PhD) had been granted by the Accreditation and Registration Council, South Australian Government.

On 1 July 2011, Gibaran rebranded as the Australian Institute of Business Pty Ltd and its constitution can be reviewed here.

On 29 January 2012, TEQSA commenced regulation of all Australian Higher Education Providers, including Universities. Prior to this date, AIB was regulated by the South Australian Government, most recently by the Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology.

The AIB Academic Board oversees the development and implementation of all AIB academic policies and procedures and ensures that the academic standards are at the highest quality level possible, and that we benchmark ourselves against our peers in the industry. Financial Standing

Australian Institute of Business Pty Limited (ACN 009 115 422, “AIB”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of AIB Education Group Pty Limited (ACN 604 951 162) and all of the trading activities of the group are conducted through AIB.

As required by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission, AIB submits independently audited annual financial statements which represent the consolidated financial statements of AIB Education Group Pty Limited and all of the activities of AIB.
