AIB’s Canadian event series strengthens international ties

AIB has recently completed its Canadian event and information series, where Joint-CEO Joel Abraham held eleven MBA information sessions across four cities from Tuesday, 20th September to Tuesday, 4th October.

Prospective students who attended the information sessions in Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver heard from Mr Abraham about the MBA degree, which has recruited more than 400 Canadian students in the past year alone.

Current and graduated students in Calgary and Toronto also had the opportunity to meet with Mr Abraham at a Student and Alumni dinner, where they networked with other students from their local province.

“Australia and Canada have always had a strong affinity, but this AIB event series has revealed how keen Canadian students are to choose an Australian degree over those from the United States or even Canada,” Mr Abraham said.

“These students recognise the AIB MBA as a global degree, which puts into question how far a Canadian degree can travel. They know AIB is recognised internationally, which means their career as an AIB graduate doesn’t have to be limited by how far geographically their MBA can take them.”

Current students attending the events were pleased to share their support for AIB’s MBA, with feedback including the excellent level of student and academic support, and how the time difference between the two countries works to their advantage.

“When AIB’s office in Australia opens at 9am, it’s late afternoon Canadian time, which puts AIB in the best position to support our Canadian students who usually begin study in the early evening,” Mr Abraham said.

“Rather than having to wait until the next morning for support (as they would have to do with a local Canadian provider), AIB’s services are available at crucial times, including the midnight assignment submission deadline,” he said.

“Feedback from students also suggests that AIB’s course fees are much more affordable than those in Canada, and the multiple payment options mean our students can find a solution that will best meet their needs.”

During his visit, Mr Abraham also took the time to meet with peak industry bodies and membership organisations to further build AIB’s global reach and reputation.

“AIB’s MBA is the most popular in Australia for many reasons, and we’re committed to giving Canadians the same opportunity to study a flexible, affordable and accredited degree designed for full-time workers,” he said.

“We are looking to further strengthen our ties with Canada in the upcoming months, both by establishing industry partnerships with local peak bodies, and by running a second Canadian information session and event series in early 2017.”
