According to a study by the Graduate Management Admission Council (2007), both graduates and employers report that graduate business schools are improving independent learning thought processes, the analysis of problems and the absorption of new ideas. MBA programmes are achieving their aim of producing better managers and providing graduates with stronger managerial competencies.
Supporting this idea, Rosberto McGinnis (2005), former Director of Investment and Capital Control at DaimlerChrysler stated in a Hobsons research publication, “the training that most MBA participants receive prepares them to come into companies with a broad managerial overview of operations, new insights, fresh ideas, and enthusiasm. These are the skills MBA graduates can contribute right away”.
This ICMBA programme is ideal for employers who are looking to further develop their present and potential managers and empower them with the knowledge and capability to make managerial decisions and improve their workplace productivity. As the ICMBA provides work-oriented applications, fresh ideas and new insights, the return on investment for the sponsoring organisation is substantial.
Modes of Delivery
Distance Learning is an independent mode of study. It allows for participants in various locations to begin study at the same time. The Blended Approach mode of delivery incorporates aspects of Distance Learning with the Face to Face mode. The Face to Face delivery mode is the most interactive of the three modes, where workshops and academic support are conducted in person at the Adelaide Campus.
The full programme consists of eleven subjects of which seven are core subjects, four electives and one Final Project. Participants in consultation with their sponsoring organisation can undertake the full ICMBA of eleven subjects and one Final Project or they can undertake clusters of two or four subjects at a time.
