Biography

Dr Wali Ullah completed his PhD in Corporate Finance from University of Adelaide, Australia in 2022, and did his MSc International Finance from University of Westminster, UK and BBA Finance from East West University, Bangladesh. His doctoral thesis focused on the effects of managerial ability and CEO behavioural characteristics in corporate financial decision making. He has an extensive teaching and research experience, spanning almost a decade across Australia and Bangladesh. Wali previously held teaching positions at University of Adelaide, UniSA Online and Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). He has designed, delivered and coordinated undergraduate and postgraduate courses, both face-to-face and online, including Advanced Corporate Finance (postgraduate research course), Takeovers, Corporate Restructuring and Governance (Mergers and Acquisitions), Alternative Investments, Principles of Finance, Business Finance, Financial Planning, Investment and Risk Management, Management of Financial Institutions, International Financial Institutions and Markets and International Business. His teaching philosophy is to ensure that even a non-finance background learner can understand the intricacies of finance without feeling left out and take away some financial concepts for use in real life.

Wali’s interests in research are more multidisciplinary in nature, in the intersection of Corporate Finance, Behavioural Finance, FinTech, Supply Chain Management and Social Sciences. He has several working papers in these areas and have presented in prestigious academic conferences such as Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) Doctoral Symposium, Financial Markets and Corporate Governance (FMCG) Conference and Multinational Finance Society Conference.
