Dr. Mohsen Varsei

Biography

Dr. Mohsen Varsei is a lecturer at AIB, coordinating the strategic supply chain and operations management MBA courses. He has hands-on industry, consulting and executive education experience in supply chain and operations.

Mohsen is passionate in teaching his students about supply chain management as a key source of competitive advantage and value creation in today's globalised business environment. He also helps executives and managers to improve or develop supply chain-based business models across the world, and particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.

His industry-linked research focuses on how supply chains can be more economically, environmentally and/or socially sustainable. Aiming for world-class excellence and innovation, Mohsen’s work has been published in high-impact leading academic outlets such as the International Journal of Management Science (Omega, ranked A*), US Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings, International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management (ranked A), and Supply Chain Management (ranked A), for which he received its 2015 Outstanding Paper of the Year award. Being a finalist for the prestigious 2015 Carolyn Dexter award, Mohsen also received an Honourable Mention in the 2015 NBS Impact on Practice award from the Academy of Management.

Mohsen serves on the editorial board of the Academy of Management Review (ranked first in Business journals globally). He holds an award-winning PhD from the School of Management, University of South Australia. He is also an active member of the Academy of Management, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, INFORMS, and Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management.
