Dr. Sehrish has over seven years of experience in teaching and research in the education sector. She has contributed in the design and development of various HR systems and procedures globally. Sehrish is an experienced academic who previously held teaching and research positions at the school of management, RMIT University. She has worked on funded grant research projects by City of Melbourne Council and prepare industry reports. The aim of those projects is to instil leadership and entrepreneurship skills to migrant African Australian entrepreneurs. She has played an active role in the design of culture intelligence events in the HR Course which resulted in getting an inclusion and diversity award at the College level.
She is always interested in work integrated learning subjects where students could apply the knowledge to practise. This indeed matches with her teaching philosophy which is based on progressivism and student-centred learning approach where students are active participants, placed at the core of the learning process. Sehrish strives to be the facilitator, encouraging learners to be self-motivated and independent. Sehrish tries to ensure that classes are engaging and interactive by drawing on the knowledge from book/journals/case studies and trying to solve real life problems faced by organisations. Such rigorous approach to teaching helped her gain Teaching Excellence Awards (Good Teaching Scores) at RMIT University. Guided by student centred approach, her teaching is informed by practice and research and she look forward to delivering value to student’s learning.
Sehrish has presented her research work in conferences including the prestigious Academy of Management and ANZAM. She has published her work in esteemed journals such as Personnel Review, International Journal of Organizational Analysis, Journal of Management and Organisation. She has been an active reviewer for various journal outlets such as International Journal of Organizational Analysis, Journal of Management and Organisation, Leadership and Organization Development Journal. She won publication grant from school of management, RMIT University owing to her contributions to research.
