AIB DBA graduates are expected to make a difference to their organisation, to bring about critical change and development. The programme is structured to help participants achieve their objective in the shortest time consistent with quality research.
Research has always been central to the philosophy and development of the Australian Institute of Business (AIB). This stems from the interest and experience of the founder of the organisation, Emeritus Professor Selva Abraham, who during his time as a management consultant, saw the importance of the workplace as a rich source of learning and research.
AIB is unique amongst private providers of business education in Australia in offering advanced research degrees through to doctoral level.
Our research degrees are distinguished by their focus on work-applied learning and applied research methodologies such as action research, case research and mixed methods to produce a thesis that contributes directly to business practice. This is one reason why AIB is regarded as ‘the practical business school’.
Each of our research programmes responds to a different set of demands, recognising that managers are at different stages of their careers and have different needs at work. Thus, we offer a choice of four research higher degrees:
- Graduate Certificate in Management (Research) (GradCertMMgt)
- Master of Management (MMgt)
- Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
