Why did you decide to study an MBA and what were you afraid of when you first started?

I studied an MBA to ensure that I was translating my work experience into something that was tangible and achievable, and that I could put up on the wall and look at a later stage and say, “Yes, it means something”. When I first started my MBA I was afraid of being able to meet the deadlines. So, understanding that the MBA has lots of work entailed with it, I was concerned that I was not going to be able to meet the deadlines. When I got into it, and through the use of the online portals, I was able to actually work through the demand and achieve the targets that were set for me.

How did the support of the AIB keep you going throughout your MBA journey?

During my AIB MBA journey I got a lot of support from my tutors and lecturers and it was quite priceless because at every moment where I was uncertain, I knew I could just pose the question, either on the lecturers forum and receive the feedback, or just send them an inbox, and I knew they would give me the direction that I that I needed.

How has the MBA helped with your confidence?

My MBA has helped my confidence in that I am now more sure of myself, more sure in what I can do. It’s made me research the things that I do. So in other words, when I get a question or a task, I break it down into small chunks and make sure that – can I deliver, or, is there something to deliver? And I make sure I work towards each of those deliverables.
