5 Minutes with MBA Graduate Vesna Haracic
MBA Graduate Vesna Haracic kindly took some time to share with us a bit about her AIB journey, including how she applied theory practically and how she managed her study commitments.
Why did you decide to study with AIB over other MBA providers?
An MBA was something I always wanted to do, but for me, it was about waiting for the right time and stage in my life. I looked into many institutions offering the MBA and I found each had different opportunities, but the 12 month programme structure offered by AIB was ideal as it would have been too difficult for me to commit to a 3 year course.
How did you apply the concepts learnt in the MBA to your work?
I was able to apply the theory immediately in my workplace following every lecture, which was very interesting. For my final project, I focused on diversity management in local government, which was and continues to be directly applicable to my role at the City of Salisbury as Team Leader of the Social Participation and Diversity Team.
How did you manage your MBA study around your work and personal commitments?
For me it was all about organising my time in advance and not leaving anything to the last minute. Following my first exam, I realised I needed to strictly stick to my schedule and study every day. As the MBA was only for 12 months, everyone was very understanding of what I was trying to achieve and was supportive. I was also able to sometimes study during work hours and take study leave when required.
