Student and Alumni Event Melbourne VIC, Australia

On Thursday September 17, the Australian Institute of Business welcomed Melbourne alumni, students and industry guests to the AIB Digital Marketing Forum, held at the picturesque Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.

The exciting event, which was the first of its kind for AIB, was facilitated by social media expert and author, Adam Franklin, who delivered thought-provoking topics for discussion to our panel of experts and engaged with an audience of over 180 guests.

The forum panel consisted of four industry leaders from LinkedIn, Facebook, Uber and Yahoo7, who discussed a range of digital topics including how the rise of digital technologies have disrupted conventional practices, the power of online reputation, multi-screen marketing and using social media to sell.

As specialists in their fields, each panellist brought a different digital outlook to the forum, thanks to their experience and knowledge of their brands. Social media experts on the panel included Matt Tindale, Director of Marketing Solutions at LinkedIn ANZ, and Oliver Moore, Client Partner at Facebook ANZ. Natalie Grabbe represented Yahoo7 at the forum, and as the Head of Sales for Victoria, she was able to share her knowledge of digital sales and content marketing. Simon Rossi, General Manager at Uber Technologies, shared how Uber combines offline with online, by using technology to make requesting an Uber car simple.

The forum concluded with a Q&A session, where many guests took the opportunity to direct questions to each of the panellists on a range of topics including how each platform can be used for business success, the power of online identity and the role that innovation plays in each company.

Attendees took to AIB social channels including LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook to share their experience from the event:

“A very informative evening with some great insights shared on the digital space. Thanks to AIB & guest speakers.”

“It was a great event, loved the presenter and panellists. Good work AIB.”

“Thanks for a great forum last night. Speakers were inspiring and insightful.”

Due to its resounding success, AIB is looking forward to continuing to develop and expand its exclusive events calendar for our alumni and student community in 2016.
