What can you expect from the subject

Within the AIB MBA, New Product Design is a required subject for students undertaking the MBA (Entrepreneurial Management) and MBA (Marketing Management) specialisations, but can also be undertaken as an elective subject for students undertaking the MBA (General) Award. This subject is designed to take you through new product design from conception to launch of a new product or service, providing both inspiration and practical guidance on the processes involved – from identifying opportunities and conducting market research to entering the market and lifecycle management.

The subject will help you to develop in-demand skills across all industries, including services and not-for-profit organisations, and provide guidance for launching start-up companies with innovative approaches that resonate with today’s consumers. Over the term, you will be exposed to a combination of traditional and innovative tools and frameworks – such as design thinking – for successful product design, development and launch processes.

In today’s competitive market, businesses need to offer innovative and efficient solutions to meet the needs of consumers in order to survive and thrive. If you are a leader or manager, it is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of new product design in order to enhance customer experiences, products and services.
