What advice would you give someone looking to study online with AIB?
The advice that I would give to anyone that’s looking to study online with AIB would certainly be; do it early. I think for me, the skills that I’ve got out of this would have helped my career probably five years ago and it’s taken me probably longer to get to the executive role that I have because I didn’t have all of those fundamentals and I’ve been able to develop them along as I go. But certainly, do it early.
How did you find the support at AIB throughout the journey?
I found the support through AIB very consistent. What I liked about it, and I think I had a couple of phone meetings with academics on a couple of things that I wasn’t too sure on, so that was very reassuring, it was very easy. And all the other things when I was contacting AIB were simple questions where I got stuck, so I could send them off an email in the middle of the night and by mid next day, you’d have an answer and have a resolution and you could continue on with your journey and your own timeframes that you put in place for yourself.
Do you have any reflections or thoughts about your MBA journey?
I think the reflections that I’ve got on the MBA journey is to make sure that you are planned and that was probably from the first module for me. It was quite a learning experience and I think what I learned from that was all in the guides anyway, but I probably should have had a closer look at that and understood it better. But certainly moving through, my reflections on it are pretty strong.
The reflections and thoughts on the journey for me were it was definitely a rewarding journey. Certainly going through for me, I loved getting the feedback on my assignments and I loved getting that email saying “Your assignment results are there” and going back and reflecting on the academic feedback on that. All of that feedback was great for me to put into a commercial sense for how we should be writing and presenting business papers.
