How are you applying the skills you learned in the MBA to your current role?
I’m applying the skills I’ve learned from my MBA to support the experience that I’ve had the last 30 years, and it really has opened a lot of my thought processes and my background understanding what really should be happening and I kind of wish I had started earlier instead of waiting 30 years.
Would you attribute any of your career success to having done an MBA, and in what way?
So having the MBA at this point in my life has opened many more doors for me for the future. I am in my middle of age at this time and a lot of not-for-profit businesses in front of me, and this MBA will now actually give me certification to be able to work where my passions are.
What were the best aspects of being able to study online with the AIB?
Being able to study online for me was the only way that I could make the programme work, to fit the time in when I had spare time at work and also when I was at home. The ability to actually go online, find all my research, do my writing, and produce what I needed to was amazing – something I couldn’t do in a classroom.
How did you find the support at AIB throughout the journey?
The support I received through AIB was amazing, from the original intake, looking at my exam marks and my past history, to supporting me in each of the segments of the programme as well. Not only were the advisors available to me at all times, and with the time difference we had, they were totally there regardless of the question that I had.
