What are the greatest personal and professional benefits you’ve experienced from the MBA so far?

My personal benefits that I’ve received from an MBA are really being able to look at the organization from a helicopter view; being able to deal with the front end of the office as well as the back end of the office.

As a product manager, I deal with all areas of a business, so I work with supply chain, finance. My job is to ensure that product comes from global to the customer base here in Australia. So, it’s being able to acknowledge the business as a whole and being able to do it with all those different areas and what they do and how they do things.

How are you applying the skills that you learnt from the MBA to your role?

I’m applying the skills that I’ve learnt from the MBA in all aspects of my role, from the way that I interact with my staff and how I select staff to how I deal with finance, how I look at numbers, how I look at P&L sheets, and how I deal with supply chain. So, it’s getting an understanding of all those different areas and what they all do and how they do things is how I’ve actually learned to apply my skills within those different areas.

What were the best aspects of being able to study online?

The best aspect of being able to study online was that I could actually pick and choose the time that I wanted to study. Because I travel a lot of the time, it was time that I could actually spend at the airport reading reviews or reading journals or articles. Then I could come home and it didn’t matter what time I came home, I could then dedicate time or spend more time on a weekend and catch up with different subjects. So, that was the best about studying online.
