Kasun is currently a lecturer in management at AIB. He has over a decade of work experience in the telecommunications industry, and he has achieved the Chartered Engineer [CEng] status in recognition of the significant contribution made by him to the industry through developing innovative engineering and business solutions. He also has nearly a decade of experience in teaching in higher education and engaging with research and scholarship.

Kasun completed his Doctorate in Management at Edinburgh University Business School, UK. Kasun also has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. His current research and consultancy interests are in the specialised areas of operations and technology strategy, business model innovation (with application to emerging technologies such as industry 4.0), strategic project management and practice-based education.
