Sajjad is a Senior Lecturer and Discipline Leader in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Australian Institute of Business. He is an experienced industrial engineer and supply chain manager with a comprehensive education profile. Prior to AIB, he served as an Associate Professor of Industrial Management and Information Systems and the Associate Dean of the faculty at National University of Iran. He additionally served as a Visiting Professor at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and worked in the areas of logistics and transportation management through social media analytics.
He earned his Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management from the Polytechnic University of Tehran and completed his M.S. and B.S. in Industrial Engineering. Before starting the Ph.D. program, he worked as a supply chain manager and consultant in different reputable industries and led many industry projects for operations improvement including a wide scope of supply chains, such as mining, oil, and automotive industries.
He has conducted a handful of practical research at the intersection of information technology and supply chain management. His research focuses on developing IT-based practical problem-solving methods to enhance organizations and supply chains. His research papers have been published in highly reputable supply chain journals such as the International Journal of Logistics Research and Applications, the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Annals of Operations Research, and the International Journal of Logistic Management.
His approach to teaching is interactive, experiential, and practical – benefiting everyone involved in the learning process. This teaching style makes the learning process more enjoyable for the students and ultimately assists them in applying the course content to their future careers. He has extensive experience in teaching courses in the different areas of SCM, Business Analytics, and IS at both graduate and undergraduate levels. He additionally has instructed several successful workshops for industry professionals.
