While working in a Policing role for nine years and specialising in Traffic and Commercial Vehicle Inspections, Brendan always had the itch to become an entrepreneur. In 2018, he followed his passion and started his own Home Inspection business, leveraging his construction skillset. Within 12 months, Brendan was asked to lead a division for Rumi and develop a new Home Maintenance Inspection offering in Alberta, which, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, transformed into the largest virtual service for Rumi called “Ask a Home Inspector”. To date, this is the busiest service they offer!

Along his journey, Brendan’s mentor recommended completing an MBA to develop his business knowledge and complement his B.A. in Criminal Justice. The pandemic provided the unique opportunity to find the best online school to achieve this goal – AIB was his first choice!

While studying the MBA, Brendan was approached by a larger insurance company who recognised his success and had similar ambitions to diversify their reliance in the insurance industry. As a lifelong learner and a longstanding member of Echelon Front leadership group, Brendan was able to successfully transition from one industry to a completely new one by building connections, furthering his education and mentoring peers along the way.

Brendan can assist with providing guidance and leadership to those looking to explore higher education. He specialises in entrepreneurship, assisting companies to grow and scale their businesses and supports his peers to realise their potential at work and in their personal life. He notes, “Often we have to detach from the situation to see the opportunities in front of us, which includes building a relationship with a mentor and having them assist and motivate you along the way.”
