Dean is the Head of People and Growth at Hanlon Industries, a family-owned and award-winning steel manufacturing and construction company based in Geelong, Victoria. Before completing his MBA (majoring in Human Resource Management), Dean was the former Director of Human Resources at The Sands, Torquay, and the Chief Sales and Service Officer at Defence Bank, holding that position for nine years. He also held several senior leadership and HR positions at NAB.

With extensive corporate experience in financial services, manufacturing, and hospitality across Australia, Dean’s passions include optimising customer and employee experiences, uniting purpose and vision with strategic intent, and leading large enterprises in their operational organisational development, human resources, and industrial relations activities. His executive experience has included direct P&L accountability and the delivery of major transformation capability projects involving people, products, and change management. From a risk and governance perspective, he was a Responsible Manager for Defence Bank’s Australian Credit License and Australian Financial Service License. Dean has an unrivalled devotion to driving a performance culture responsibly with the agency of meaningful organic activities and social and corporate accountabilities.

Within a professional sporting context, Dean also enjoyed a successful career as an athlete and coach with the Geelong and Fitzroy Football Clubs within the Australian Football League. He’s extremely ambitious and driven by the power of uniting teams. In his personal time, Dean continues to promote health and well-being through a commitment to sport, fitness and involvement in various charities, community groups, and sporting clubs that support a variety of youth development and education programs.

Dean can assist with leadership skills honed through C Suite experience in banking and financial services. Strategic vision, decisive decision-making, and adeptness at managing complex operations have propelled him to drive organisational growth and foster innovation.
