Gabriela is a lifetime advocate of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and is passionate about fostering growth and developing this area in any way she can. She has over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, and for the past 10 years, has held leadership roles with Scotiabank and CultureAlly.

Reporting directly to the Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at CultureAlly, her current role ensures client satisfaction by overseeing consulting services and guaranteeing that deliverables are met with high quality and on time. She leads clients through conducting culture assessments and analysis, developing DEI strategies and strategy implementation. Gabriela participates in the facilitation and content creation for DEI trainings, including but not limited to foundations to DEI, Unconscious Bias, Anti-Racism, Allyship and Inclusive Leadership. She is actively involved in evolving CultureAlly’s methodology and how they work with consulting clients.

For over five years, she has also managed various development programs with Scotiabank that promoted 52% of Women in Technology (WIT). Gabriela was responsible for creating, organising, and chairing the Technology Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (TDEI) Council and recruiting five key executives and over 60 volunteers. In addition to executing meetings among senior leaders, her ultimate goal was to engage all stakeholders in the TDEI strategy while advancing global business results and objectives. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President (SVP) in Technology and Executive Champion for ignITe! Gender Diversity, Gabriela accelerated organisational learning by establishing best practices for all TDEI initiatives, ensuring flawless execution of programs that supported Scotiabank’s principles, values, and messages
