AIB Featured Business Leader Matt Tindale
With AIB recently being announced as Australia’s most influential brand on LinkedIn, a profile on one of LinkedIn’s top employees seemed fitting. As the Director of the platform’s Marketing Solutions team across Australia and New Zealand, there are many lessons which can be learnt from the career of Matt Tindale. His personal LinkedIn profile states “My passion is leading high performance teams that are results driven and helping clients achieve their objectives in a consultative manner”, demonstrating his firm focus on leadership, as well as building positive client relationships. Holding a Bachelor of Economics degree, Tindale commenced his career as a Media Strategist at Bray Media in 1996, followed by becoming Strategy Manager at DDB in 1998. It was during his time at the agencies that he discovered his knack for the digital world, and pursued it further.
When working for Bray Media and DDB, Tindale lead media strategies on high profile accounts such as McDonalds, St George Bank and the Roads and Traffic Authority. After some time, he switched to the publisher side of the industry, and has since held executive positions at Austereo, Austereo Interactive and MCM Media. Each step in his career has seen him increase the amount of people he manages, further expanding his leadership capabilities.
It was in 2013 when Tindale accepted the role of Director of Marketing Solutions AU & NZ at LinkedIn – a position which has seen his career soar to new heights. The department works with leading marketers and agencies to be the most effective platform to engage with professionals. They do so through reaching the right demographics through detailed targeting, and providing them with relevant content based on their decision-making processes. Commenting on his role, Tindale explains that the department works ‘towards a common goal of transforming the way marketers engage with the world’s largest audience of affluent, influential and educated professionals”.
Matt Tindale is a regular speaker at industry events, including ADMA Global Forum, SocialBiz, Social Media Week, Digital Financial Services Summit and Mumbrella BFest, festival of content marketing. It is AIB’s pleasure to welcome him as a feature panelist at the AIB Digital Marketing Forum in Melbourne this September, where he will discuss the impact of digital technologies on buyer behaviour. An understanding of digital marketing is fast becoming an essential in business, so we are certain that Tindale’s advice will be of great benefit to the AIB network.
