AIB Makes its Mark on Canada in 2017
Following the success of the AIB MBA Info Sessions and Student & Alumni Events last September, AIB’s Joint CEO Joel Abraham hit the shores of Canada again during March 2017.
The 10-day tour covered three major Canadian cities—Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver—with two Info Sessions and one Student & Alumni Event held in each city.
During his trip, Joel had the pleasure of meeting with AIB’s current MBA students and alumni through networking events. He also had the opportunity to inform the Canadian market about AIB’s innovative, flexible online MBA platform and practical approach to education during the Info Sessions.
“This time round we really ‘upped the ante’ with our MBA Info Sessions and Student & Alumni Events,” said Joel.
Official guests at the Info Sessions included current AIB MBA students and graduates, who shared their valuable insights with attendees, based on their study experiences.
Joel went on to say, “This year the Student & Alumni Events were fantastic! We hosted them in much the same way we do in Australia, featuring keynote speakers in both Toronto and Calgary.”
Our keynote speaker in Toronto, Dr. Matthew Jelavic, is Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Institute of Management. His presentation topic – ‘Is management a profession?’ – opened up a lot of interesting conversations amongst guests during the event.”
In Calgary, our guest speaker was Cynthia Watson, who is Chief Evolution Officer of Vivo for Healthier Generations. She presented a fascinating topic – ‘Chief Evolution Officer: learning to be a new kind of CEO’. Far more interactive than most typical presentations, Cynthia certainly generated some thought-provoking conversations amongst our guests.”
Joel went on to mention that during his visit he initiated important discussions with Canadian industry peak bodies, industry associations and corporate groups.
“We also had an additional focus on our agenda, aiming to develop relationships with industry peak bodies and secure industry partnerships and high calibre industry guest lecturers from some of Canada’s largest organisations,” he said.
We are really proud of the work that we’ve done so far, but we’re just getting started. We believe there’s a huge opportunity to grow our presence in Canada and replicate the performance and the success we’ve had in Australia. Through our innovative approach to education, we aim to grow our Canadian alumni community and further develop business relationships with Canadian organisations.”
Upon another successful Canadian tour, Joel announced that he will be returning later this year to conduct more Student & Alumni Events and MBA Info Sessions.
