5 minutes with MBA Graduate Trevor Bartholomew

AIB MBA Graduate Trevor Bartholomew, Regional Ocean Transport Manager at Nestle Trinidad and Tobago Limited, graduated with an MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. We sat down with Trevor to discuss his MBA and how gaining the degree has changed his life.

What motivated you to do an MBA?

I really wanted to do an MBA in the area in which I worked so that I could gain further knowledge and understand why we do things a certain way. I think it helped to be working and studying in Logistics – I was able to marry both the theory and practice, and apply it to my role. It made me look at things I had been doing for quite a while, and realise that I never understood the theory behind it.

How did you find the AIB MBA programme?

I found the programme to be very practical which worked well for me. The subjects that I studied helped me to relate to people from other departments, such as HR, and understand what they do, how they do it and why they do it. That experience and experiences from the other subjects that I studied during the AIB programme will be applicable in all of my future endeavours with my company. I also know that even if I leave this company they will be relevant, which is great.

How has gaining an MBA changed your life?

The MBA has helped me immensely – I now say that the sky is the limit! The MBA has helped me in managing finances, being able to manage human resources as well as grow in my particular area of logistics and supply chain management. The modules that I studied, the experiences and knowledge that I gained from this programme are invaluable – it has greatly assisted my career.
