5 Minutes With MBA Graduate Applesamy Naidoo
An MBA Graduate at our 2014 Graduation Ceremony, Applesamy Naidoo was kind enough to speak with us about his experience as a student of the Australian Institute of Business, and how studying an MBA has changed his outlook.
What appealed to you about studying with Australian Institute of Business?
I have studied with other institutes and Universities, but I did my research prior to choosing an MBA and that’s when I found AIB. AIB has a great focus on practical concepts, and drawing new knowledge and understanding from those practical concepts. I knew that the AIB MBA was a programme that I could learn and use in my career – when I looked at the textbooks they supply to the students, I realised that you can use it immediately.
It was like that for many of my subjects, too – the Leadership course was one that I was able to use it immediately. I could go to work and look at a situation objectively, and ask questions about why the situation has occurred and what should happen next. The practical courses have changed the way I react to issues in my business.
So how did completing the MBA affect your life?
Completing the MBA gave me a bigger outlook, especially in work and my daily life, and it completely changed my behaviour, the way I conduct myself. Being in a very large globalised organisation, my studies have helped the way I conduct myself – in daily meetings, daily work streams and so forth. It creates improvement in the way I actually deliver my work.
My behaviour has changed a lot, my leadership has changed a lot, and the way I deal with people on a daily basis has also changed a lot. I have actually been told that I am a totally new person now, and I have to thank the AIB programme for that.
