5 Minutes with MBA Graduate Gareth Noble
At the AIB Leadership Masterclass in Brisbane this year, we had the pleasure of speaking with MBA graduate Gareth Noble about his experience studying with AIB.
How has the programme affected your life?
Through the MBA I have been able to gain a really good understanding across a range of business subjects. In my work environment, it has certainly made me more confident and I can now apply the theories I learnt throughout the course.
Would you attribute any of your success to completing the MBA?
It is one of the reasons I have been able to move into different roles! I have been successful in a number of change projects because I have the MBA, as it shows I have the knowledge required, and it gives me the confidence to know that I understand the general principles relating to business.
How did you balance work, study and family commitments during your studies?
When I started the MBA programme, my son was only four months old, so my wife and I worked out a plan that would be suitable for us. Studying via distance learning worked well for me, as I wasn’t restricted by certain lecture times. The ability for me to set my own schedule was really helpful. I was quite regimented in how I studied to make sure I had time for my family and my study. I took an hour before work to study and one day of the weekend.
Reflecting back on your journey, what are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my final project, where I worked with my current employer through an organisational issue. The project was therefore not only useful for my MBA, but also for the organisation I work for.
