Dr Parth Patel is an Associate Professor of International Business and Management at AIB, bringing over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership, both in Australia and the UK. He is a regular facilitator for the subject “Strategic Human Resource Management” and serves as the Subject Steward for “Managing People in a Global Context” and “International Business,” where he oversees their academic quality and content to ensure they meet the highest standards of learning and relevance for practitioners, reinforcing AIB’s commitment as a practical business school.

Alongside his teaching responsibilities, Parth also works as a part-time Research Coordinator within the Academic Research Team, where he serves as the official contact point for HDR candidates as well as provide support and manage processes through the candidature life cycle. Additionally, Parth also serves as the Chair for AIB’s AHRI Advisory Committee providing strategic guidance on curriculum development, student engagement, and continuous improvement for the MBA (HR Management) program. In this role, Parth helps ensure AIB’s alignment with industry standards and foster strong connections with relevant professional bodies and industries.

Parth’s research sits at the intersection of International HRM (micro), International Management (meso), and International Business (macro) domains. At the micro-level, his work focuses on global staffing and expatriation, international mobility and global careers, and the transfer of HRM practices across national boundaries, exploring how individuals and HR systems operate within diverse cultural and organisational contexts. At the meso-level, he examines control systems in multinational firms, HQ-subsidiary relationships, and subsidiary autonomy and roles, highlighting how organisational structures and managerial practices shape the performance and coordination of international operations. At the macro-level, his research investigates the influence of institutional environments on firm strategy, cultural value orientations, and the internationalisation of multinational firms from emerging markets, providing insights into how broader economic, social, and cultural forces impact global business strategies.
