4 Reasons Why You Should Make The MBA A Priority In 2016

With 2016 fast approaching, many business professionals are beginning to think about what the new year will bring them. Whether you’re looking for a salary increase, a new job or a professional qualification, the MBA is a unique programme that can help you to achieve your career goals. Plus, practical programmes like AIB’s 12 Month MBA allow you to complete your MBA within an accelerated time frame. If you’re considering taking the leap, see below for why you should make the MBA a priority for 2016.

1. MBAs are in demand

According to the Graduate Management Admission Council’s (GMAC) 2015 Corporate Recruiters Survey, the MBA job market has reached an all-time high and has been increasing steadily for the past three years. In addition, 84% of companies plan to add recent MBAs to their workforce. On a global scale, more than 50% of employers plan to increase starting salaries for new MBA hires. It is clear that there is no better time than now to possess an MBA, particularly if career progression is a personal goal of yours.

2. It is more accessible than ever

Previously, undertaking the MBA meant that students could not work simultaneously. The only option was attending classes on campus during full-time working hours. Thanks to technology and innovative learning models, MBA students can now study while they work. For example, AIB’s distance-learning option allows students to study wherever and whenever they like. Subjects are offered in a monthly learning model, meaning that the MBA can be completed in as little as 12 months. Programmes are also becoming more and more affordable, such as AIB who offers a fully accredited and recognised education at an achievable price point.

3. Why are you waiting?

John Bullen, AIB MBA Graduate, explained that “I procrastinated for many years and it was a mistake. Life is always busy. The skills and insights of the AIB MBA are so invaluable that the earlier you can have them the better.” If you’re contemplating whether to make the MBA a priority in 2016, consider the pros and cons of waiting. Achieving career goals doesn’t happen overnight, so if you have a plan, why not get started on it as soon as possible? A good quote from Og Mandino reinforces this – he said, “Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later”.

4. Strong support systems

If your concern is whether you are ready for the MBA yet, there are strong support systems in place to ensure your best chance of success. AIB’s expert Course Advisors and Student Support staff are on hand to assist students with everything from academic questions to formatting and assignment advice. When chatting with a Course Advisor, it is important to explain your goals and why you consider the MBA a priority in 2016. They will talk you through your options and assist you with making the right decision for your career.
