4 Reasons Why You Should Consider Hiring An MBA Graduate
In the increasingly tough job market that exists today, it’s no wonder that more and more people are turning to programmes such as the Master of Business Administration (MBA) for a competitive edge. The MBA is widely known as a valued qualification for business professionals – according to the Graduate Management Admission Council, the proportion of employers seeking new business school graduates continues to show a strong upward trend. In 2016, 88% of companies indicated that they planned to add recent MBAs to their workforce – up from 80% in 2015. While it is likely that your organisation will look for other key qualities in a new staff member, here are four reasons why you should consider hiring an MBA graduate.
1. MBAs boast a diverse skillset
To be accepted into the MBA, candidates must already possess extensive experience and/or prior qualifications. When undertaking the MBA, this foundation is built upon significantly, equipping graduates with a range of key skills necessary for high level business operations. When hiring an MBA graduate, you can be confident that the candidate is highly motivated, able to deal well with challenges and can work autonomously to a high standard. They also work well with deadlines and are considered high achievers. MBAs boast a range of other skills that are relevant to numerous roles, proving very useful in a professional environment.
2. They are innovative and critical thinkers
Throughout the MBA journey, students are challenged in a variety of ways and required to think critically in order to solve real-world issues. The word ‘innovation’ is often thrown around and that is because MBA students need to think innovatively to succeed in their studies, and in their post-MBA careers. An employee with an MBA can bring a new and informed perspective to a business, and can use their MBA acquired skills and knowledge to review processes, identify new opportunities and improve current practices.
3. Graduates respond well under pressure
Often a candidate can present a great resume and interview well, but when put in a challenging situation, can begin to struggle. Hiring an MBA graduate can assist in easing this concern – MBAs are regularly pushed to achieve more, challenging themselves and working to tight deadlines along the way.
