Dr Mamun Ala

Dr Mamun Ala has a PhD in Applied Economics (international trade regulation) from the University of South Australia (UniSA). His other qualifications include an MPhil in Management, MEco, MBA, MEd, BA, a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Swinburne), and a Diploma of Counselling. He also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAFE SA), a Certificate in Effective Online Course Design from the University of Oxford, and a Certificate in Global Business from Harvard Business School Online.

Mamun has more than fifteen years of experience teaching in Australian higher education institutions. He also brings extensive academic experience from working with the University of South Australia and Flinders University. He has designed and taught a range of face-to-face and online business courses at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels, including International Business, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, and Entrepreneurship and Small Business.

Mamun is a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the recipient of TafeSA Honour Award 2025 for Cultural Leadership. His research spans mental health and wellbeing, equity, diversity and inclusion; sustainability; the future of work; ethics in higher education; and online education. Over the years, Mamun has published in reputable outlets, including the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Applied Learning and Teaching, Cambridge University Press, Emerald, Springer, Routledge, and Elsevier, among others.
