STRATEGIC HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Fast-Track MBA Subject

Subject Summary

Within the Fast-Track MBA, Strategic Human Resource Management is our core subject focusing on the business of people, which are the driving force behind the success of any organisation.

It prepares students – as managers and professionals at all levels – for the continuously evolving nature of work and the challenges and opportunities this presents for organisations in meeting the strategic needs of a diverse workforce. With shifts driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution’s technology and innovation boom, COVID-19 pandemic and new generation of workers (Gen Z), it’s more important than ever that organisations think strategically about their workforce.

A strong HR strategy can give companies a competitive edge by attracting, retaining, and developing the best employees. Looking beyond the scope of traditional and reactive HR practices, strategic HR management takes a much more proactive approach, evaluating the organisation’s present plus future needs to develop strategies to meet them. Your MBA learning in Strategic Human Resource Management will, therefore, focus on how organisations can manage their human resource tactically to achieve business objectives.

While working through topics such as the future of work, recruitment and training, managing performance and ethics in HR, you’ll attend weekly webinars to discuss how key concepts and theories play out in the workplace, or catch up on the webinar recordings when it suits you.
