AIB Alumni Industry Panels

AIB’s Alumni Industry Panels (AIPs) were first formed in 2020 to harness the expertise, insights and experiences of our diverse and highly skilled alumni members and consult on current trends plus challenges within their industries. Insight from our panels also helps to maintain the currency of our qualifications. Today, over 130 alumni and industry members serve across seven panels to consult regularly on what’s happening in the business world right now, how to evolve the MBA learning content and how AIB can continuously improve the student experience for all.

What’s happening in our AIPs

Since March 2025, the collective AIP group has produced 61 artefacts including 28 presentations, case studies and roundtables, 13 new learning resources, 14 co-authored AIB Review publications and 6 guest speaker sessions.

Highlights from the most recent Alumni Industry Panel meetings include:

  • Finance capability that pairs technical confidence with leadership
  • Leading through uncertainty, risk and sustainability
  • People-led digital transformation with responsible tech
  • Supply chain resilience and smarter inventory decisions
  • Ethical marketing in a privacy-first, AI-shaped world
  • Entrepreneurship built for policy and market shifts

Continuous learning

Undertake a research degree

For graduates, the MBA learning journey often unlocks an interest in a particular business discipline or current business problem, and with that a desire to contribute to practice or enact change. AIB’s research degrees are distinguished by their focus on work-applied learning and applied research methodologies such as action research, case research and mixed methods to produce a thesis that contributes directly to business practice.

In addition to AIB’s research higher degrees – Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) – we also offer two pathway courses – Graduate Certificate in Research Methodologies (GCRM) and Master of Management (MMgt).

AIB MBA graduates with a GPA of credit average (5.0) or higher are automatically eligible for the DBA, and all graduates are eligible for the GCRM and MMgt. Contact the Research Team for more information.

Complete additional MBA study to earn a second master’s degree

For those who are eager for more MBA-level learning in a familiar environment, AIB MBA graduates can study additional elective subjects they weren’t able to fit in to their first degree. The best part – you can achieve a second MBA by completing just 4 subjects.

This offering allows you to receive subject credits for up to two-thirds of the MBA you have already completed, leaving just the final stage (3 electives or specialist subjects + new Project subject) to complete to receive a second qualification. Depending on your current career and learning goals, you can choose a specialisation pathway to earn a specialised MBA, or handpick the elective subjects of interest to you to earn a general (unspecialised) postgraduate business degree.

It’s a great option for those who have changed careers or learning needs since their MBA and would now benefit from adding a specialised degree to their CV, or anyone interested in undertaking additional learning.

Contact the enrolment team for more information.
