Why did you decide to study an MBA?

As a petroleum engineer, I realised that in order for me to grow, in order for me to be successful, both professionally and personally, I needed to develop a complementary skill set. I thought that leadership, management, understanding a little bit of business, would help me on that path. That’s the reason why I decided to study the MBA with AIB.

Can you tell us a little any challenges or setbacks that you may have encountered on your MBA journey?

In terms of challenges while doing my MBA with AIB, the main one was coming back to school. The last time that I went to university was probably 14 years ago. Going back to the books and dedicating some time to it was the biggest challenge. I think that having support from your family and friends, making them understand the effort that you’re putting into it, they’re going to provide you with opportunities to find your time for yourself and be successful and do it, finish it.

A lot of students are struggling with time management. How did you make it work, especially at the start?

One of the positive things of the MBA program with AIB is its flexibility. If you as a new student get enough support from your family and friends and find opportunities for you to be alone and concentrate on your subjects, I think you’re going to be successful.

How did you find the support at AIB throughout your MBA journey?

The support that AIB provided to me during the journey was important. I’m really pleased with all the communications I had with staff. They were very helpful, very supportive. They helped me on my journey and I’m really thankful of the help that they provided in order for me to succeed.
