How have you applied the skills you learned in the MBA in your role?

I have been able to apply the skills in my daily work and it’s really been well integrated into how I actually manage my operations of the work area that I’m involved with. It’s become very much an intrinsic part of what I do and there are particular aspects of the MBA programme that I found really useful. Working in a people sort of industry, I think the strategic human resource management part I found really useful and invaluable.

How did you find the support at AIB throughout the journey?

I found the support that I got from AIB in my MBA journey excellent. I think the admin team were very responsive. Every time I got online to request information they were very prompt in their response. They did what they said they would do and they were very responsive. I think that gave me a lot of confidence in working with the AIB team.

Would you like to add any further reflections or thoughts from your MBA journey?

I’ve not done another MBA before but all I can say is I really enjoyed my MBA. When I speak to my friends about it they say “I’ve never heard of anybody enjoying the MBA,” and I said I had a lot of fun. I really did. It helped me grow and it helped me apply the skills, and it allowed me to actually apply a really broad perspective when I’m doing my job.

I’ve really enjoyed the MBA and I really want to thank the MBA team and the AIB team for helping me through it. I’ve just loved it. I’ve really enjoyed it and most of my colleagues and friends can’t believe I’ve actually enjoyed an MBA. But I have, I really have had fun with it too. It’s really broadened my skillset and the MBA journey has been excellent for me and it’s made me a more well-rounded manager for the team that I work with. I’ve really enjoyed it and I think it’s a great course.
